This idyllic place is in the Lofoten Islands in Norway.
In 2023, I hiked across this chain of islands far north above the Arctic Circle. The Lofoten Islands are known for their dramatic mountains rising straight out of the ocean and the small fishing villages scattered along the coastline.
I took this photo from a bridge crossing toward one of the islands. The traditional houses built on wooden poles are dotted along the shoreline, and in the background you can see the large wooden drying racks used for drying fish, something the islands are famous for.
Places like this almost make me want to get a small cabin there myself.
