In 2022, I hiked across the Isle of Skye in Scotland, crossing the entire island on foot. Conditions were far from ideal, with days of pouring rain, but it’s usually those dramatic conditions that make for the most memorable experiences and the best footage.
On my very first night, I found this cliff overlooking the ocean. I was a little hesitant about pitching my tent there, but after carefully checking the weather forecast, I decided to go for it and made sure to secure the tent a little extra against the wind.
Using my drone, I took this photo from above, which I think was the perfect angle to capture the campsite. Far below, waves crashed into the cliffs throughout the entire night.
I was lucky the weather stayed calm, because conditions up there could have turned bad very quickly. But when morning came, the views over the coastline and ocean were absolutely beautiful.
